Forest school

For my final Year 2 project, I redeveloped an underused library in Cardiff, transforming it into a school. My goal was to retain as much of the original structure as possible, as shown in the top two parti diagrams. This approach enabled the creation of an interior courtyard by repurposing the library’s large double-height central space, which previously lacked natural light. By implementing a courtyard this naturally allowed for accessibility to classrooms and provides a secure play area for children.
